Montréal, September 17, 2024 — Alea Protection becomes an Official Partner of the Women’s program of the CF Montréal and an Official supplier of CF Montréal. This partnership ensures that all players will have access at all times to Alea’s organic and sustainable menstrual products throughout the season. These products will also be available to the Club’s employees.

Destigmatizing Menstruation in Sports
By partnering with Alea, CF Montréal is making a significant move towards destigmatizing menstruation in the sports world. By openly addressing this topic, the partners aim to reduce the persistent taboos in sports. Menstruation can genuinely impact athletes' performance; indeed, it is concerning to note that 1 in 2 teenagers* avoids sports due to menstruation. It is therefore crucial to speak openly about this subject and reduce the taboo surrounding menstruation in the sports community.

Accessibility of Menstrual Products
This partnership ensures that no athlete will miss a practice or match due to a lack of access to menstrual products. Throughout the season, each player will consistently have access to Alea’s period products.

Fighting Menstrual Poverty
Part of this partnership aims to address menstrual poverty among youth. Alea will donate products to a Montréal non-profit organization, selected by CF Montréal, that supports young athletes who may be affected by menstrual poverty.

"I invite all other sports organizations to follow suit. During this partnership, I had the opportunity to speak with several athletes from various disciplines, and many reported that it is not uncommon to start their period before a match without access to menstrual products. They often find themselves in a situation where they need to ask other athletes for products, use toilet paper, or leave to buy them. Providing menstrual products is a simple and inexpensive gesture that sports organizations can easily implement," says Roxane Champagne-Duval, founder and CEO of Alea Protection.
